City of Elysian – Ordinance No. 133/26
Notice is hereby given; the Elysian City Council will be holding a public hearing on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 6:15 pm in the Elysian City Hall, located at 110 Main Street West. The purpose of the hearing is to allow public input from citizens on proposed Ordinance No. 133/26 – An Ordinance Amending Elysian City Code §156.121 – Pertaining to Accessory Structure Standards.
A copy of the draft Ordinance is available at City Hall for public review. All written and oral comments will be heard. Written comments may be dropped off or mailed to Elysian City Hall, P.O. Box 246, Elysian, MN 56028, or emailed to lorri@elysianmn.com. Oral comments can be presented at the public hearing on Monday, September 14, 2026, as indicated above.

PUBLIC NOTICE
The streets that were reconstructed as part of the 2023 Street and Utility Improvement Project will be seal coated on August 4, 2026. The streets include Maple Avenue SW, Lewis Lane, Third Street SW, First Street S, Jason Drive, G Avenue SE, and Fifth Street SW.
Pearson Bros. Inc. will be doing the seal coating. They will put up no parking signs the night before the seal coating and no parking will be allowed on the streets until the project is completed.
In the case of a heavy rain event, the seal coating will be rescheduled.
The post sweep date is scheduled for August 13, 2026. Pearson Bros. Inc. will not be posting no parking signs for this sweep, but it would be ideal if no cars were parked on the affected streets for the post sweep. It would provide for more thorough results.

PUBLIC NOTICE
The water tower will be cleaned and painted inside and out this summer. The tower will be sandblasted to remove the old paint. There will be a curtain installed around the outside of the tower.
The Verizon antennas are located on the water tower and will have to be removed during the water tower maintenance project. Verizon is scheduled to install a temporary pole to hold the antennas and relocate the antennas to that pole in early August.
Work on the water tower will begin mid-August and be completed the end of October.
Once the project is completed, the Verizon antennas will be reinstalled on the top of the water tower.
