Elysian hosted an estimated 20,000 spectators today who lined up lawn chairs five-deep along Main Street for the annual 4th of July Parade. Hundreds of units went by including area royalty, politicians, local businesses, bands, and most importantly, several color guards from Elysian and surrounding communities. The American flag was the star of the day, receiving the most applause of all.
