Sakatah Trail Family Bike Ride

A family enjoys their bike ride through Elysian.

Hundreds of cyclists participated in the Annual Family Bike Ride that wound through

Elysian on July 30.  The 18 mile ride takes cyclists through four communities. 

Elysian's Tourism Center is one of sixteen checkpoints where bikers stop for refreshments

and play a dart game for prizes.  The Annual Bike Ride is sponsored by the

Southern Minnesota Lakes Region Association to promote the bike trail and

welcome tourists to the lake towns along the way.

Mayor Mack Evans welcomes a couple bike riders.

Participants throw darts at each checkpoint to win prizes donated by local businesses.
