Wine tasting brings community together for worthy cause
A lot of people walked out of the American Legion Club Rooms Thursday evening carrying bottles of new wines they'd discovered and prizes from the silent auction. But, the big winner was the WE Share Food Shelf. The annual holiday event raises funds to benefit a pantry which serves many families in the Elysian area. Host Mayor Mack Evans reported 176 tickets sold with 141 people attending. Mankato Hilltop HyVee Wine & Spirits provided the beverages with local vendors donating food. Tammy Peach of American Family Insurance sponsored the event, just one of many holiday happenings in Elysian.
