Elysian hosted the annual Rookie's Triathlon on Saturday, July 8. Competitors took on the challenge of swimming .4 miles, biking 8 miles, and running 4 miles. Brett Lovaas won the men's category with a time of 51.16. Katie Buecksler took first in the women's category with a time of 59.16. In the men's - women's mixed teams category, the tri's 2005 top team of Emily Ellingson, Courtney Jones and Zack Walchuk repeated as winners with a time of 58.15. The women's team of JoRae Galli, Gretchen Sadaka and Mary Simpson came in first with a time of 1:01.06. The men's team of Eric Burns, Paul Hilsen and Jeff Lambardo took first with their time of 50:20.
