Thunderstorms broke sultry summer heat overnight bringing a cool, calm morning for 300 athletes to swim, bike and run their way through Elysian Saturday.

Todd Landgraff of North Mankato came in first with an official time of 52:32.8. Michelle Creasman of Faribault had the fastest time in the women's category, coming in at 1:03:08.3.

In team categories, Laura Hughes of Mankato was the first woman across the finish line to turn in a time of 57:15.0 for her team's performance. A men's team listed as Adam, James and Dimler came in just ahead of Hughes at 57:01. A co-ed team from Kasota took first in their category with a time of 1:00:36.2

This is the third time Landgraff has claimed the top honor at Rookie's.

 

Laura Hughes was the first woman in, the third member of a women's team that took

first place. Her teammates, Sara Sneer and Brittany Laughlin come forward with her

to accept their medals as Master of Ceremonies, Tim Penny looks on.

won their category. The group receives their medals from Miss Elysian.
