A record number of anglers and spectators spent part of Super Bowl Sunday having a super time out on Elysian's Lake Francis. What a difference a year makes - the 2007 contest was held on one of the coldest days in recent memory. This year, it was a sunny Minnesota winter day and the fish were biting. The winning catch was a 1 pound 6 and 3/4 ounce northern, caught by Chad Agrimson of New Richland who claimed first prize of $100. Fishing winners are listed below along with those taking home American Legion raffle dollars and prizes in the Sons of American Legion drawing.

American Legion Post #311 sponsors the contest in cooperation with the Auxiliary, and Sons of the American Legion. Hundreds of merchandise prizes are donated by local businesses and The Pit Stop provides bait. All anglers receive a cup of Elysian's famous Hunter's Stew.
